The redesigned Living Room combines a coffee bar by day and a cocktail lounge with live music and performances by night. Programming includes high tea, seasonal coffees from local roaster Barocco, happy hour sessions, and weekend DJ sets and workshops. The menu features locally inspired bites such as gojuchang fried cauliflower, mushroom arancini, charcuterie and flatbreads.
“Reimagining Living Room on the ground floor was about creating synergy between W and the city,” says Elie Sassine, general manager of W Toronto Hotel. “Now, when you walk through our doors, you are immersed in the heart of the hotel, where Toronto’s originality and the true identity of the W Hotels brand come to life.”
The redesign, conceived by Chapi Chapo Design, draws inspiration from Yorkville’s 1960s bohemian spirit and the sophistication of the Mink Mile. The result is a modern space featuring intimate nooks, communal areas and a dedicated live music zone.
The next stage of the project is TONO, a rooftop restaurant from Michelin-starred chef Akira Back. Scheduled to open in October, TONO will serve Nikkei cuisine, a blend of Japanese and Peruvian influences.
Located at 90 Bloor St. E., W Toronto Hotel says the renovation reaffirms its position as a downtown destination for both visitors and locals.
