Canadian hospitality brand Basecamp Resorts has announced a new partnership with One Tree Planted - a non-profit organization that focuses on global reforestation efforts. The partnership aims to plant 75,000 trees across Alberta and B.C. every year
Basecamp Resorts will be donating a percentage of each guest reservation starting May 1st, 2023; for every $1 donated, one tree will be planted in either Alberta or British Columbia, with the goal to plant 75,000 trees annually, to help restore local forests, create habitat for biodiversity, and make a positive social impact around the destinations that Basecamp Resorts operate in.
“We recognize the profound impact that the tourism industry can have on the environment. This partnership with One Tree Planted will mark a significant step towards helping to replenish our forests, removing carbon from the atmosphere and further promoting sustainable practices in the hospitality industry. Our properties are located in the heart of some of the most pristine natural landscapes on Earth and with that privilege comes great responsibility. By partnering with One Tree Planted, we are making a commitment to take an active role in not only sustaining these lands but also in supporting a global environmental issue that needs immediate attention.,” says Geoff McLean vice president of marketing, co-owner Basecamp Resorts.
Basecamp Resorts guests will be able to track their impact with a new tree planting counter that will be posted on BasecampResorts.com in the coming weeks, along with details about local tree-planting events and other ways for the community to get involved.
