The Kenrick Hotel, Banff, Alta, formerly the High Country Inn (opened in 1982) has now been reimagined as a luxurious modern retreat.
After a 2.5-year, multi-phase renovation, the boutique hotel is officially launching in May 2025 with an elevated guest experience.
Located at 419 Banff Ave, Banff, Alberta, T1L 1A7, the property collaborated with construction partner BUILD IT, who played a key role in executing the renovation while preserving historical elements—and meeting rigorous design and sustainability standards.
Key renovation phases included:
BUILD IT's leadership was key in managing the project, coordinating trades and timelines, and working with The Kenrick team to ensure the hotel was only closed for six months to complete the guest suite renovations.
With Banff’s tourism industry rebounding, this project not only enhances the region’s tourism offering but also serves as a prime example of how real estate and hospitality owners and operators depend on their construction teams to collaborate in delivering successful, transformative, high-impact projects. It also underscores the growing trend, where older landmark properties are being reimagined to meet modern demands, preserving cultural heritage while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
