Sunray Group of Hotels has invested in a new upcoming Marriott hotel in Wasaga Beach, Ont.
The $45M investment will be located at Beach Area 1, with construction beginning early 2026. The 120-room hotel project will revitalize the beachfront, enhance tourism and create jobs.
The hotel will bring a festival square ($1.5M investment) for outdoor events, a collaboration with the town for future phases and residences, and potential affiliation with Marriott Residences for rental pool opportunities similar to Blue Mountain.
Phase One features will have a restaurant, convention and wedding facilities, fitness spa, or pool and commercial shops. Furthermore, the project will elevate Wasaga Beach’s tourism brand, attract world-class partnerships, and transform the town into a year-round destination.
“...Sunray Group has confirmed they will build a Marriott hotel next to our spectacular beachfront, including shops, cafes, restaurants and more. This historic, $45 million investment will complement smaller, family-owned inns and cottages, and restaurants in our community—it represents local jobs, higher-value tourism and multi-day visits to Wasaga Beach, which will support our small businesses. Wasaga Beach is excited to partner with Sunray Group as we continue to redevelop our beachfront commercial area and unlock our community's full potential to become a thriving, year-round destination,” says mayor Brian Smith.
