Pomeroy Lodging has promoted Ryan Laurie to senior vice-president of resorts, the company has announced.
Laurie began his career at Pomeroy as a financial analyst and advanced into senior roles, most recently serving as director of asset management. In that position, he oversaw real estate acquisitions and dispositions, financing efforts, investor relations, and new franchise and management opportunities.
The company said his promotion reflects its commitment to developing leaders from within.
“Ryan’s drive to win, industry expertise, and proven leadership make him ideally suited to guide the growth of our Resort vertical into the next decade,” Pomeroy says in a statement.
Laurie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Que., where he concentrated in finance and accounting with a minor in economics. Before joining Pomeroy, he worked in asset management and corporate strategy roles with Canada’s largest hospitality management firm and the country’s largest publicly traded hotel real estate investment trust.
