Second-generation executives to lead national expansion of family-owned hospitality brand
Groupe Hôtelier Grand Château (GHGC) has announced a complete rebranding of Hilton Laval, which will reopen in March 2026 as OMAGE Hotel Laval, the first Tribute Portfolio property in the city.
The transformation includes a full-scale renovation of the property’s 190 rooms, lobby and exterior architecture, and is being positioned as a significant step forward in the independent boutique segment in the Greater Montreal Area. The rebranding aligns the property with Marriott Bonvoy’s Tribute Portfolio, a collection of character-driven independent hotels.
“OMAGE will be a place where form and function take unexpected paths,” says Michel Tremblay, general manager. “This boutique hotel concept, which is unique in Laval, will help create a vibrant hub for travellers while opening the establishment to our community.”
Designed in collaboration with CAMDI Design and DMA Architectes, the OMAGE concept draws from the elements—wood, stone, steel, water and fire—using locally sourced materials and natural tones throughout. The 10-storey property will include 42 long-stay suites with kitchens, updated meeting and event spaces, and a multi-functional library room designed for private gatherings.
The lobby has been reimagined as a social and working lounge with communal tables, a fireplace, and a custom chandelier that reflects the colours and shapes found in nature. A new sunlit terrace and interior features such as hidden passages are intended to offer guests an experience that’s immersive, playful and grounded in place.
OMAGE will become the fourth Tribute Portfolio property in Quebec and the first in Laval. Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio currently includes more than 155 properties worldwide, with a focus on locally anchored experiences and architectural individuality.
GHGC, which also owns Sheraton Laval and operates Saint Raphaël Golf Club, is marking more than four decades in the hospitality sector. The company is positioning OMAGE as a flagship for its values of service personalization and guest experience.
