Niagara Falls-based Fallsview Group has expanded beyond Ontario with the acquisition of the Hyatt Regency Calgary, marking the company’s first venture into Western Canada.
The 355-room hotel, situated in downtown Calgary, is a prominent full-service property connected directly to the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre. The acquisition signals a strategic move by Fallsview Group as it seeks to grow its national footprint in the Canadian hospitality sector.
“This acquisition marks a major milestone for Fallsview Group as we bring over 35 years of hospitality experience—rooted in Niagara Falls—to Western Canada,” the company said in a statement. “Our mission has always been to deliver exceptional guest experiences, and we look forward to bringing that same commitment to service, quality, and hospitality to Calgary.”
The Hyatt Regency Calgary features more than 34,000 square feet of meeting and event space, Thomsons Kitchen & Bar, and the Stillwater Spa. It serves a mix of business and leisure travellers and occupies a key location in Calgary’s downtown core.
The move underscores Fallsview Group’s long-term goal of expanding its portfolio beyond Ontario while maintaining a focus on full-service offerings in urban destinations. The company has not disclosed the terms of the transaction.
“We’re excited to grow in this dynamic market and look forward to what’s ahead as we continue to expand the Fallsview Group legacy across Canada,” Fallsview Group in a statement.
