David Cloutier is now director, franchising and development for Calgary-based Superior Lodging Corp. Based in Sherbrooke, Que., he joins the development team of Nigel Lucas, VP franchising and development in Toronto and Trevor Scott, director franchising and development in Vancouver.
Cloutier spent 10 years managing restaurants which provided him with leadership experience and a strong understanding of customer service. Then he stepped into the banking business working with Wells Fargo Financial and later with BMO Bank of Montreal. Cloutier worked with both personal and commercial clients, developing the banks’ portfolio by finding creative solutions to fulfill the needs of his clients. He joined Superior Lodging with the intention of bringing the same strategy to help grow the Travelodge and Super 8 brands in Quebec and the Maritimes.
“We are excited to expand the skills and talent of our development team with the significant experience and strengths that David brings to the team”, said Lucas.
“With business development representation spanning the country, we expect to expand the presence of Super 8 and Travelodge by converting unbranded hotels across Canada, particularly where the highest numbers of unbranded guestrooms reside in Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
The direction is provided under the newly formed entity of Waramaug Hospitality Canada LLC, in partnership with Superior Lodging Corporation in April 2015; Superior Lodging Development TL Corporation, the company, is led by Marc Staniloff, CEO of Superior Lodging Corporation making the combined portfolio for both brands, 221 hotels in Canada.
