Choice Hotels Canada is opening its sixth hotel in Kingston, Ont. with a newly-built Comfort Inn & Suites.
The property is the latest venture by local business owner and 30-year hospitality industry veteran, Raj Bedi. His family-owned business has operated several hospitality properties in the Kingston area over the last three decades. The property management team also includes general manager, Linda Hicks, who brings years of experience managing large hotels and ensuring superior guest experiences.
This large-scale new build hotel represents their first collaboration with Choice Hotels.
“I believe strongly in the strength of Kingston’s tourism and hospitality sector. We look forward to showcasing our new hotel, supporting local economic development, and continuing to serve the community and our guests” says Raj Bedi, owner, Comfort Inn & Suites Kingston. “Comfort is a trusted brand, with an important and long legacy in the market, and thoughtfully designed with useful amenities that guests will appreciate and enjoy.”
The 62-room property includes nine spacious suites ranging in size up to 750 square feet and incorporating long-term stay amenities.
“This new hotel was a true collaboration between Choice Hotels and its owners,” says Graham Marsh, national director, franchise development, Choice Hotels Canada. “The project launched during the pandemic, which presented some challenges, but Raj and the team persevered wonderfully. It’s something we have been looking forward to and it’s great to see the property come to life.”
The hotel also participates in Choice Hotels “Room to be Green” program, which promotes environmentally friendly practices such as energy conservation, and recycling and waste reduction.
The hotel is centrally located in Kingston on 2467 Princess Street, the main retail area in the downtown core.
