Truman and Marriott to bring three high‑profile hotel brands to Calgary
W Calgary, JW Marriott and Autograph Collection hotel to anchor landmark $1.47B development in Culture + Entertainment District
The Alberta Hotel & Lodging Association has announced its 2024/25 AHLA board of directors—Ian Jones, Shona Karas, Cole Millen, MBA, Chris Oldring and Nicole Sullivan.
Jones currently works as complex general manager at The Dorian Hotel, Calgary, where he has worked for close to a year. He has been in the hotel industry for over 35 years, and has held positions with the Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour, Victoria, B.C., The Westley Calgary Downtown Hotel and several senior leadership roles with international hotel groups.
Ian Jones
Karas is the owner of Hotel 11, MOD a Sonesta Collection and co-owner of the award-winning Comfort Inn & Suites in Airdrie, Alta. She is a Canadian hotel industry veteran.
Shona Karas
Millen is general manager of Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, Edmonton, Alta., where he has worked for almost a year. He has continuously worked with Accor - North & Central America locations for close to 10 years as general manager at Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire, and director, operations at Fairmont Express, Victoria, B.C. Before that, he worked at Delta Lodge at Kananaskis, Kananaskis, Alta., several other roles at Accor - North & Central America hotels and The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver, B.C.
Cole Millen
Oldring works as vice president at Sandman Hotel Group, where he has worked for almost a year. His previous role was director of change management at Northland Properties. Before that, he held several other roles at Sandman Hotel Group and Park Inn.
Chris Oldring
Sullivan is a general manager at Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Centre, Grande Prairie, Alta., where she has worked for close to five years. Her previous role was general manager at the Holiday Inn Express, Grande Prairie, Alta.
Nicole Sullivan
