IEEE is the world's largest technical professional organization. It hosts over 2,000 meetings globally each year and helps establish standards to advance technology for the benefit of humanity. IEEE Convene provides an opportunity for volunteer leaders from sections across the globe to meet together to discuss how to continuously improve their meeting frameworks and conference ideas.

“I was joined by Jennifer Diggens from The Calgary Stampede’s BMO Event Centre as well as destination partners from across our country as we worked collectively to welcome new international conferences to Canada. It's always a privilege to connect with our nation's community of tremendous conference industry ambassadors. Team Canada really makes noticeable and positive impressions at this and other global events.

Not only did Team Canada showcase the considerable merits of booking business events in Canada, but we also had five keynote speakers from Canada share their innovative and thought-provoking presentations. Of note, Genevieve Leclerc, CMP from #MEET4IMPACT encouraged IEEE volunteer planners to curate events with legacy outcomes that generate positive social impact & change.

Another great Made-in-Canada technology innovation was showcased at #IEEEConvene with the ARHT Capsule providing real-time keynote presentations in a “holograph” manner linking speakers from Toronto, Egypt and Vancouver to delegates in Panama for presentations as well as live Q&A.

"Gracias to our wonderful hosts in Panama for showcasing the cultural, environmental and engineering wonders of their beautiful country. With compelling presentations, delicious culinary fare and colourful cultural showcases, every attendee was left with a favourable impression and wanderlust to return for future visits,” says Fraser Abbott, business development manager, Calgary Champions Program.

There are more than 421,000 IEEE members in more than 160 countries. The IEEE publishes a third of the world’s technical literature in electrical engineering, computer science and electronics and is a developer of international standards that underpin many of today's telecommunications, information technology and power generation products and services.
