The Rimrock Banff will temporarily close in early October 2025 to begin a comprehensive renovation, with an anticipated reopening in spring 2026.

The Rimrock Banff Embarks on a New Chapter 1

Before the property’s historic transformation begins, guests are invited to experience the magic of The Rimrock this summer.

Throughout the transition, the resort remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring a seamless experience for guests with existing reservations, while supporting its team members through this chapter—with personalized support plans that meet their unique needs.

As part of this renovation, The Rimrock is proud to honour the 30-year legacy of its Five Diamond restaurant, Eden. Revered for its exceptional wine collection, masterful culinary artistry, and impeccable service—Eden has been the cornerstone of The Rimrock’s dining experience for decades. To celebrate its legacy, guests are invited to savour a series of intimate farewell experiences, including The Grande Finale Tasting Menu, featuring the most celebrated dishes from Eden’s 30-year history.

"For decades, The Rimrock has stood as a proud part of Banff’s story—a retreat shaped by nature, memories, and the cherished guests who return year after year," says David Garcelon, general manager, The Rimrock Banff. "As we celebrate this rich legacy, we invite guests to join us this summer in honouring all that has made The Rimrock so special. We look forward to this meaningful farewell season before our transformative next chapter begins."

With a compelling history dating back to 1884, The Rimrock has grown over the decades into one of Banff’s most iconic retreats, always with one foot in history and one eye on the horizon. Renowned for its uninterrupted, 360-degree mountain vistas, it rests high on Sulphur Mountain, minutes from Banff, and also in the stillness of the wild.
