Canada hotels record first occupancy decline in three months
After three consecutive months of year-over-year increases, Canada’s hotel industry recorded a decline in occupancy, according to CoStar’s July 2024 data.

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. — STR data for 29 November through 5 December 2020 showed Canada’s hotel industry with slightly lower occupancy compared to the previous week.
The following statistics show the percentage change from the comparable week in 2019:
Occupancy for previous weeks came in at 25.7 per cent (November 28), 27.8 per cent (November 21), and 27.8 per cent (November 14).
For the week ending with December 5, British Columbia recorded the highest occupancy level (28.3 per cent) among the provinces.
Among the major markets, Vancouver (27.3 per cent) posted the highest occupancy level for the week.
