Spark by Hilton Toronto Markham has opened its doors to the community with a grand opening celebration. Located in the heart of Markham, this 72-room hotel is JM Hospitality’s newest addition to its portfolio offering an exceptional experience at a budget-friendly price point for both business and leisure travellers.
The grand opening party was designed to showcase Hilton’s first Spark in Canada. Guests were greeted with purple cocktails, Spark’s signature colour, delicious hors d’oeuvre spreads and live music setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.
The highlight of the event was a guided hotel tour, where guests were introduced to the stylishly designed rooms, lobby and breakfast area, and state-of-the-art swimming pool. Each space demonstrated the hotel’s commitment to delivering an exceptional experience with carefully chosen furnishings leaving the attendees with overwhelming positive reactions.
A ceremonial ribbon cutting was led by the Mayor of Markham Frank Scarpitti commemorating the official opening. In his speech, Mayor Scarpitti thanked JM Hospitality for their long-standing and continuous commitment to the City of Markham and expressed excitement about the hotel’s role in the community.

This 15-storey dual brand is expected to break ground in 2025, creating synergies to serve hotel guests with 3 distinct Hilton brand hotels on the same site.
