Kothari Group teamed up with Oakville-based Sigma Group in the spring of 2019 to begin construction of the $20-million, four-storey, 125-room TownePlace Suites by Marriott hotel behind Shoeless Joe’s on Upper James near the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. “The structure is completely done, it’s all interior work now.”

The new hotel is aimed at the extended-stay traveller and each room will have a full kitchen. When it opens, the project is expected to create 35 full-time jobs. Kothari said previously the hotel’s proximity to the John C. Munro-Hamilton International Airport also bodes well for business.
