LAS VEGAS — Choice Hotels Canada honoured its Platinum and Gold Award winners for 2017, and chose the Hotel of the Year, once again the Quality Inn and Suites, Val D'Or, Quebec.
The winners' properties were displayed onscreen at the Canadian Reception at the Choice Hotels International Convention in Las Vegas. The annual awards celebrate the highest rated properties within the Canadian portfolio of more than 325 hotels across the country.
The Platinum and Gold Hospitality Awards are based on a ranking system that examines key performance areas including Guest Insight System survey results and Quality Assurance reviews. Platinum recipients are the best of the best and among the top three per cent of hotels within the Choice Hotels Canada system, while Gold recipients are among the top four to 10 per cent.
The celebration was held at Skyfall on the 64th floor the Delano Hotel. This is the 18th edition of the Hospitality Awards in Canada.
At the reception, Brian Leon, who is now president of CHC, congratulated the winner of Hotel of the Year. General manager Alexandre Audet was on hand to accept the award from Leon and Judy Sparkes Giannou.
