Located in one of the world’s top wine destinations, Watermark Beach Resort is an idyllic base to admire the rolling hills of the region’s vineyards and explore the tasting rooms of local wineries. A total of 66 per cent (223) of British Columbia’s wineries are located in the Okanagan Valley, according to Wine Growers British Columbia (WGBC), with wineries in the province welcoming more than 1,191,500 visitors, generating $609 million in associated revenue for the provincial economy (2019).
In support of the region’s wine industry, Watermark Beach Resort has teamed up with a roster of signature wineries and artisanal options to launch a “Sip & Stay” package. The package includes a wine passport for guests to explore the region at their own pace, with 12 local favourites to choose from, including 15 Park Bistro and Backroads Brewing at Watermark Beach Resort.
After a day of self-guided winery visits, guests can experience the region’s blends and varietals from their table at 15 Park Bistro, boasting Roussane, an interesting blend by Black Hills Estate or sip on a Merlot by Church & State. The exclusive Sip & Stay package is available until October 1, 2024.
“We are proud to partner with our local wineries and brewery for the Sip & Stay package. Offering each registered adult guest complimentary tastings via an exclusive tasting passport, the package gives guests the option to visit wineries over the course of several days,” says David McBean, general manager at Watermark Beach Resort. “It allows us to support the local wine community while providing guests the opportunity to sample some of BC’s best wine. While touring the region they can bring back a few favourites to enjoy on their lake-front balconies as they unwind from the day.”
Visitors to Osoyoos have an abundance of activities to choose from in the region, spanning everything from live music to comedy nights, yoga sessions to horseback riding, events with painting, and food pairings. And of course, water enthusiasts are just steps away from Osoyoos Lake, Canada’s warmest fresh-water lake, located right on the doorstep of Watermark Beach Resort.
This summer, the resort has teamed up with Wakepilot, Osoyoos’ premium watersports experience provider to offer their new “Room & Board” package, which provides guests with a $30 credit for use at Wakepilot, available until September 30, 2024. “Wakepilot is part of the fabric of Osoyoos, and we are very excited to collaborate with their team for the Room & Board package,” says McBean. “The credit covers the cost of a stand-up paddle board rental; however, guests could use the credit towards other rentals and experiences with Wakepilot, for example, boat or kayak rentals. Osoyoos Lake is among the region’s most beautiful features, and we are delighted for our guests to get out and enjoy the water this summer.”
Watermark Beach Resort has also partnered with Levia Wellness Spa to launch the “Levia Spa” package, brand-new this summer. Offering guests a $100 credit per room per night usable for treatments at the on-site spa, this year-round package must be booked a minimum of 48 hours ahead of guest arrival.
