OCAF appoints Frederic Dimanche to board of directors
The Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund (OCAF) has appointed Frederic Dimanche as new member of the board of directors.
Dimanche’s current role is director, School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University — where he has worked for close to 10 years.
His previous roles were director, Center for Tourism Management, professor and associate dean of the faculty at SKEMA Business School, Sophia Antipolis, France. Before that, he worked at Travel and Tourism Research Association Europe, BESTEN, University of New Brunswick, The Olinger Group and the University of New Orleans.
The Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund (OCAF) was established in 1999. It has three aims:
to increase cultural tourism by providing investments to assist Ontario organizations to develop, promote and present one-off or first time events, or a significant expansion of existing activity — which are designed to attract new tourists and visitors to cultural events.
increase the earned revenue capability of the applicant organization.
support events that foster economic growth and contribute to job creation.
OCAF achieves this by providing up front working capital directed towards the applicant’s marketing and promotional costs, with the investment taking the form of a partially repayable loan. OCAF board decisions are informed by sound economic analysis and measurable results.
