The Muskoka hospitality market has expanded with the opening of Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Gravenhurst Muskoka. The 106-room property, owned by Hamza Akram Holdings Inc., represents Marriott’s latest investment in Ontario’s cottage country, targeting leisure and business travellers drawn to the region’s year-round tourism offerings.
Located off Highway 11, the hotel provides easy access to local attractions such as the Muskoka Discovery Centre, Bethune Memorial House and scenic hiking trails. The property’s proximity to the Muskoka Wharf and a range of outdoor amenities positions it as a convenient base for exploring the area’s seasonal activities, including golf, boating and winter recreation.
“We’re incredibly proud to be part of the Gravenhurst community and to offer both locals and visitors a place where they can truly relax and experience the best of Muskoka,” says Akram Muhammad, president of Hamza Akram Holdings Inc. “We’ve worked hard to create a space that reflects the natural beauty of the region while providing modern amenities and exceptional service.”
Management services for the property are provided by InnVest Hotels, Canada’s largest owner and operator of hotels. Satinder Dhillon, senior vice president of operations at InnVest, highlighted the collaborative effort involved in bringing the property to market.
“Working alongside Mr. Akram to bring this hotel to life has been a rewarding experience,” says Dhillon. “Our management team is committed to supporting the hotel’s growth and success, ensuring that every guest enjoys a welcoming and memorable stay.”
The property’s design reflects Fairfield’s brand heritage, offering a blend of modern amenities and practical comfort. Rooms and suites are equipped with separate living, working and sleeping areas. Guests can also take advantage of complimentary Wi-Fi and hot breakfast. The hotel participates in the Marriott Bonvoy travel program, giving members access to rewards such as free stays and exclusive experiences.
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Gravenhurst Muskoka is part of a growing trend of branded, limited-service properties catering to a broad demographic of travellers in Ontario’s secondary markets. In addition to Muskoka’s appeal as a tourist destination, the region has seen growing interest from investors seeking to diversify portfolios in areas outside traditional urban centres.
