Realstar Hospitality has expanded its portfolio in British Columbia with the opening of a new Motel 6 in Merritt. The 26-room hotel is located at 2350 Voght Street, near the Coquihalla Highway, and offers easy access to downtown Merritt and nearby tourism and recreation sites in the Nicola Valley.
The newly opened property features pet-friendly rooms equipped with mini-fridges and complimentary Wi-Fi. Children aged 17 and under can stay at no additional cost when sharing a room with a parent or guardian. On-site amenities include a meeting room with capacity for up to 100 people, as well as two food and beverage outlets: Mughal Garden Restaurant, serving Indian cuisine, and Cactus Annie’s, a pub-style venue offering live music and casual fare.
“We’re proud to welcome Motel 6 in Merritt to our growing portfolio in British Columbia,” says Irwin Prince, president and COO of Realstar Hospitality. “Merritt is a vibrant community and perfectly aligns with our expansion plans for Western Canada.”
The franchise is owned by Jagjit Hans, who described the Nicola Valley location as well-positioned for travellers. “We’re proud to deliver quality and value to visitors travelling in the Nicola Valley,” says Hans.
Local attractions near the hotel include the Nicola Valley Museum & Archives, Rotary Park, Nicola Valley Aquatic Centre, Merritt Golf & Country Club, and the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame. Merritt, known as the Country Music Capital of Canada, also features the Merritt Walk of Stars and several outdoor trail networks.
Realstar Hospitality is the Canadian master franchisor for the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands, which are part of the G6 Hospitality portfolio.
