Opened in 2015, the 61-room hotel was developed by local entrepreneur Mathieu Mault in partnership with Activar Hotels. The project was completed in just eight months at a cost of $6.9 million, with the goal of meeting growing demand for modern accommodations in eastern Ontario’s Prescott-Russell region.

Strategically located along Highway 417, the hotel offers amenities including a fitness centre and meeting space, and has received repeated recognition in Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ “Best of Microtel” global awards.

“This 10-year milestone is a testament to the power of a local vision, hard work, and the shared commitment to hospitality by local stakeholders,” says Mault.

The hotel has sold more than 133,000 room nights since opening, according to the company, and continues to serve as a hub for both business and leisure travellers. Its development was backed by a group of local investors, including Brian Lafleur; Yvon, Marc, Mario and Gilles Laplante; Daniel and Claude Leclair; Joanne Latour; Jean-Marc Levac; Serge Arcand; Gilbert Séguin; and the late Patrick and Nathalie Thibodeau.

Operational oversight has been provided by Activar Hotels since 2020. Under the leadership of general manager Christine Dérepentigny—named General Manager of the Year for 2023 within the Activar group—the hotel has continued to maintain high service and operational standards.

Microtel Casselman staff and ownership are inviting community members, partners and past guests to join in recognizing the 10-year milestone.
