Paul Loehr, who most recently led Marriott’s Development efforts in Canada, will be transitioning to Lead of Development for Marriott’s Full Service Brands in the Western United States.
Aaron Laurie and Duncan Chiu will lead Marriott’s Canada Development team going forward. In an announcement by Don Cleary, President Canada Operations, and Noah Silverman, Global Development Officer, U.S. and Canada: Laurie and Chiu are both life-long residents of Canada who have an impressive history of leveraging their first-hand knowledge and deep expertise working in Canada’s Development marketplace to the benefit of Marriott owners and franchisees.
Laurie, Senior Director, Lodging Development, will lead Marriott’s development efforts in Eastern Canada. Before joining Marriott in 2019, Laurie held asset management and consultant roles at Pomeroy Lodging, IFA Hotel Investments, and HVS. He received his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph, School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
Duncan Chiu, Director, Lodging Development, will lead Marriott’s development efforts in Western Canada. Before joining Marriott in 2020, Chiu held roles at Coast Hotels, HVS, Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. Duncan received a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph (Hotel & Food Administration major) and holds certificates in Commercial Real Estate and Hotel Real Estate Investments & Asset Management from Cornell University.
