Legendary Canadian businessman Harry Steele has died at the age of 92.

Harry Steele was a legendary Canadian who began and operated several successful business ventures including the Newfoundland Capital Corporation and Eastern Provincial Airways.

He was born in 1929 in Musgrave Harbour, N.L. After 24 years of service in the Royal Canadian Navy, Steele began investing in the stock market while teaching at a military school in N.S. He entered into real estate by purchasing The Albatross Hotel in Gander. Then he moved into transportation and radio.

Steele was appointed the Order of Canada in November 1991. He died on January 28, 2022, in St. John’s, N.L at the age of 92.
