Paul Y. Construction (B.C) Ltd. has announced the groundbreaking of new dual-branded hotel in the heart of downtown Vancouver.
Hyatt has announced the appointment of Tom Beckett as its new director of development for Western Canada.
Based in Vancouver, Beckett will be responsible for aligning Hyatt’s portfolio of brands with owners and locations throughout Western Canada. His appointment supports the company’s ongoing focus on strategic growth within the World of Hyatt ecosystem.
Beckett joins Hyatt after nearly a decade with HVS, where he served as a hotel consultant advising clients across North America. His work at HVS focused on feasibility studies, market strategies and asset valuations, combining financial analysis with field research and direct industry experience.
Originally from Whitehorse, Yukon, Beckett studied at the University of Guelph. He maintains close ties to his northern roots and is known for his strong belief in the role of hospitality in strengthening communities, supporting local economies and contributing to reconciliation efforts.
Hyatt shared the following announcement about Beckett’s appointment:
