Hotel Association of Canada has announced its launch of its new Workforce Growth Strategy, aimed at overcoming the biggest barrier to industry recovery: the workforce shortage.
Recognizing the importance of a healthy pipeline of talent in consultation with industry leaders, HAC developed a comprehensive, multi-faceted approach that aims to:
• Attract more domestic workers to the exciting world of hospitality,
• Expand our reach to international talent,
• Work alongside partners like Tourism HR Canada to offer robust employer support,
• Mobilize our industry to create meaningful, sustainable change,
• Share critical research, valuable resources and host stimulating discussions to foster a collective approach to our challenges.
Here are some key initiatives under this strategy:
• A National Career Awareness Campaign to inspire, through employee video interviews, interest in hotel careers and address workforce gaps.
• The HAC Workforce Action Report, outlining actionable short- and long-term strategies to tackle critical labour shortage issues domestically.
