Easton's Group of Hotels and The Gupta Group, in partnership with The Remington Group, the Rudolph Bratty family, and Marriott Hotels, have announced the official opening of the Kingston Marriott on December 18, 2024. Situated at 285 King St. E, the hotel is located near Kingston’s waterfront and within walking distance of local restaurants, retail, and cultural landmarks.
The property features 172 guestrooms and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space, making it the largest venue of its kind in downtown Kingston. Its central location and proximity to sites such as Kingston City Hall, Springer Market Square, and Princess Street are expected to appeal to business travellers and visitors alike. The hotel also occupies a site with historical significance, as it stands where the Royce Inn Hotel was established in 1791, reflecting Kingston’s longstanding role as a destination for hospitality.
“The Kingston Marriott represents an important addition to the Marriott Hotels portfolio and to the Kingston community. It brings modern amenities to a city steeped in history, and we are excited to contribute to the area’s growth and appeal,” says Steve Gupta, founder and executive chairman of The Gupta Group.
The design of the guestrooms incorporates references to Kingston’s heritage, including limestone textures that connect to its identity as the “Limestone City,” as well as artwork inspired by local and Indigenous traditions. Amenities are tailored to meet the expectations of today’s travellers, including work-friendly layouts and tech-enabled features that support business and leisure needs.
The hotel’s food and beverage offerings emphasize local partnerships, with a focus on sourcing ingredients from the region. Its restaurant, Academy Food and Drink, is designed for both casual dining and private events. Additionally, Marriott Bonvoy members with Elite status gain access to the M Club lounge, offering enhanced services such as breakfast and evening refreshments.
The meeting and event facilities are a key component of the Kingston Marriott, providing versatile layouts and state-of-the-art equipment suitable for conferences, corporate gatherings, and social events. General manager Srinivas Srirangam highlights the team’s focus on service and customization, emphasizing the hotel’s readiness to host events of varying scales while delivering a high standard of service.
The Kingston Marriott is positioned to serve as a hub for visitors and businesses, combining modern amenities with a location that draws from Kingston’s rich historical and cultural identity.
