Germain Hotels and Reliance Properties have announced a recent partnership to open Le Germain Hotel Vancouver.
This landmark project will transform an office building at 1111 West Hastings Street into an elegant 180-room boutique hotel—set to open in 2029. Guests can expect a signature blend of warm, personalized service and thoughtful design.
Located in the heart of the Coal Harbour neighbourhood, near the Vancouver Convention Centre—Le Germain Hotel Vancouver will offer views of the North Shore Mountains and waterfront. The design, entrusted to long-standing partner LemayMichaud, will integrate Canadian artistry and local influences, capturing the essence of Vancouver’s unique character.
This collaboration brings together two family-owned Canadian businesses that have shaped their respective industries for decades. For over 35 years, Germain Hotels has offered its guests a thoughtfully crafted hospitality experience, while Reliance Properties, a Vancouver-based real estate firm with more than 70 years expertise—has played a pivotal role in shaping the city’s urban landscape. Both companies share a commitment to thoughtful development, sustainable practices, and a deep appreciation for art and culture.
With this expansion, Germain Hotels is now a coast-to-coast company, now operating in 12 Canadian cities. This project will be Germain Hotels’ 22nd property and its 9th hotel under the Le Germain Hotel banner, following the recent announcement of Le Germain Hotel Casino de Montréal.
As Vancouver continues to evolve into a top destination for business and leisure, the demand for high-quality accommodations remains strong. This project represents a long-term investment in the city’s future, ensuring that visitors will have access to thoughtfully designed hospitality spaces for years to come.
“Expanding into Vancouver is a major milestone for our company,” says Hugo Germain, vice-president, operations, Germain Hotels. “As a family-owned Canadian business, we are deeply committed to creating meaningful projects that leave a lasting impact. Vancouver is a dynamic city with a bright future, and we are thrilled to invest here in partnership with Reliance Properties, a company that shares our values and passion for excellence. Together, we will bring to life an address that exemplifies our vision for refined hospitality and iconic design.”
Echoing this sentiment, Reliance Properties recognizes the significance of this collaboration and its impact on Vancouver’s hospitality landscape. “We are proud to collaborate with Germain Hotels on this transformative project,” says Jon Stovell, president and CEO, Reliance Properties. “This hotel will not only bring a new level of boutique hospitality to Vancouver but will also play a key role in shaping the city’s urban landscape and help to address Vancouver’s critical shortage of hotel rooms. Both of our families are deeply rooted in the Canadian business community, and this project reflects our mutual commitment to building a strong and prosperous future for Vancouver.”
