Fairmont partners with Devialet to amplify guest experience through luxury sound

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has signed a global partnership with French audio brand Devialet to integrate its sound technology across the luxury hotel chain’s 96 properties. The collaboration will see Devialet become Fairmont’s exclusive sound provider, enhancing guest experiences through curated soundscapes in Fairmont Gold rooms and public spaces, as well as through pop-up activations and retail offerings.

Omer Acar, chief executive officer of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, says the partnership builds on the brand’s cultural history. “As a brand that has been celebrating since 1907, music has always been integral to the Fairmont guest experience and partnering with Devialet allows us to further honour this heritage, while delivering the next generation of immersive sound experiences for guests,” Acar says in a statement. “Fairmont hotels are social epicenters … which is why our partnership with Devialet is a natural transition.”

Guest touchpoints

At the property level, Devialet’s sound technology will be installed in select guestrooms, where bespoke “sound journeys” will be paired with lighting to create a multi-sensory environment. Lobbies will feature evolving soundscapes tailored to the character of each destination. Select Devialet products, including the Gemini earbuds and Mania Bluetooth speaker, will also be sold through the Fairmont Store, alongside other brand-inspired items.

“By weaving Devialet's sound signature into the heart of Fairmont's spaces, we are making acoustic excellence a new cornerstone of hospitality, where each stay becomes an immersive and vibrant experience,” says Jacques Demont, chief executive officer of Devialet.

Events and activations

To mark the launch, Fairmont and Devialet will host a series of events, including a “Disappearing Bar” pop-up at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York this September. The concept will pair cocktails with curated soundscapes. The partnership will also bring forward the “Party Like It’s 1907” series, featuring listening sessions and live performances inspired by concerts previously hosted at Fairmont properties.

Fairmont, part of Accor, has a history of musical associations, having hosted performances by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, David Bowie, Johnny Cash and Louis Armstrong.
