Destination Canada promotes Virginie De Visscher to executive director
Destination Canada has promoted Virginie De Visscher to executive director, Destination Canada Business Events.
De Visscher’s previous role was senior director, business development, and director, business development. She has been with the company now for almost seven years.
She also serves as director on the Sustainability Advisory Board at Meetings Professional International and is a member of North American Chapter Advocacy and Partnership Working Group at ICCA. She also has several licences and certifications including, Sustainability Excellence Professional (SEP) from Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI,) Sustainable Event Professional Certificate (SEPC) from Events Industry Council, Sustainability Excellence Associate (SAE) from International Society of Sustainability Professionals and more.
Before that, she worked at Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Economic Development Winnipeg Inc., World Trade Centre Winnipeg, ANIM — Manitoba’s Bilingual Trade Agency, Leadership Winnipeg, UGACOF, Kampala, Uganda and TRANSYS, Kinshasa, DRC.
