Deerhurst Resort has appointed Andrew Buwalda as general manager.
His previous role was global director on the board at Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP.) Before this, he worked at Freed Corp., the Hotel Association of Canada, Skyline Investments, and various past roles also at Deerhurst Resort, Skyline Hotels & Resorts, and InterContinental Hotels Group.
Buwalda has over 10 plus years of experience working in senior finance and operational leadership roles, supporting hotel general managers and owners in achieving their objectives. He also volunteers his services to boards and committees including Niagara College Professional Advisory Council and HFTP Young Professionals Advisory Council.
