Choice Hotels Canada has announced its 27th addition to its Ascend Hotel Collection, The Vic.
“This upscale hotel located in the very heart of Victoria is a valued addition to our Ascend Hotel Collection,” says Brian Leon, CEO of Choice Hotels Canada.
“For travellers exploring The Garden City, the hotel offers a luxurious and ideally-situated home base.” The hotel underwent a complete, full-scale renovation in 2022 that transformed the lobby and public spaces, as well as guest rooms and created a new exterior facade. The newly completed property features a spacious and stylish lobby, apartment-style suites with LED mirrors, rainfall showers, BeeKind amenities, Smart TVs, and kitchenettes.
The Vic is located close to the Inner Harbour district, the home of frequent festivals, live shows, visiting yachts and cruise ships. This historic district offers a variety of fine restaurants and lounges as well as carriage rides. The pet-friendly hotel has an outdoor pool and is located by the scenic “Galloping Goose” running trail. It has both a fully-equipped fitness and business centre, an ‘Optimism Lounge’, as well as onsite food and beverage outlets including the Vic Café and Hecklers Bar & Grill.
“We are delighted to join the Ascend Hotel Collection,” says Shakil Adam, president of the Evergreen Hospitality Group, owners of The Vic. “We look forward to welcoming guests and showcasing our best-in-class hospitality.” The area offers no shortage of activities for visitors from chartered boat tours, to world-famous whale-watching tours. Culture seekers will enjoy a visit to the Royal British Columbia Museum, featuring indigenous art and natural history exhibits. Located at 123 Gorge Street East, the hotel is also close to the Mayfair Shopping Centre featuring over 120 upscale shops.
