Susie Grynol resigns from HAC, appointed VP at Marriott International
The Hotel Association of Canada (HAC) has announced the resignation of Susie Grynol from her position as president and CEO, effective June 3rd, 2024
As reported by Business Council of Manitoba, Ida Albo, managing partner and co-owner of The Fort Garry Hotel, Spa & Conference Centre has been recognized as a trailblazer and one of Winnipeg’s biggest hotel industry leaders and community supporters.
Albo, who has worked at The Fort Garry since 1994, transformed the Fort Garry into a top hotel and home to in-demand event spaces, the Ten Spa at The Fort Garry Hotel, and Oval Room Brasserie. Her entrepreneurship and passion for yoga led Ida to become co-founder of Yoga Public, Canada’s largest yoga fitness studio located in downtown Winnipeg.
As a civic booster, she has given her time and energy to numerous community and charitable organizations: CentreVenture Development Corporation, CancerCare Manitoba, Canadian Tourism Commission, and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. Ida received the 2020 Tourism Winnipeg Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2016 Ogimakamik Leadership Award, and the 2012 B’nai Brith Award. She was named a member of the Order of Canada in 2015, received an Honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Winnipeg in 2016, was inducted into the Manitoba Business Hall of Fame in 2018 and received the Pan Am Clinic Philanthropy Award of Distinction in 2019, to name a few.
