Accor has named Gilda Perez-Alvarado as its new chief strategy officer. Currently the Global CEO of JLL Hotels & Hospitality, Perez-Alvarado will assume her new role with Accor on October 1, 2023.
Perez-Alvarado will be a member of the group’s Management Board, based in Paris, in charge of overseeing global strategy, relations with hotel owners, and strategic partnerships, reporting directly to Accor chairman & CEO, Sébastien Bazin,” says media platform hertelier.
Perez-Alvarado has been with JLL Hotels for close to 19 years, and she also serves as a member board of directors at Blackstone Mortgage Trust. She is also on several other boards with Cornell University, Sonder Inc., Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, IREFAC — Industry Real Estate Financing Advisory Council, World Travel & Tourism Council and WX New York Women Executives in Real Estate.
Before that, she worked at Qiddiya Investment Company, PwC Canada, Ernst & Young and INCAE Business School. She is also a two-time recipient (2016 and 2021) of the prestigious Jack A. Shaffer Financial Advisor of the year at the Americas Lodging Investment Summit. She remains the only woman to date to receive this award. She is also a recipient of the 2021 Castell Award, which honours a woman leader in the hospitality investment arena and the recipient of JLL’s 2023 Champion of Excellence Award.
